DECEMBER 18th

Gentleman Reg had an amazing time performing with Broken Social Scene this week at their two sold out Bowery Ballroom shows on December 13 and 15 in New York City. It had been a long time since Reg stepped on stage with the band, and it was the first time guesting with them since last March at SXSW in Austin. Check out photos of the monday night show here, and for photos of the wednesday night show click here. (via Brooklyn Vegan).

DECEMBER 14th

On December 16, the Gentleman Reg band jets off to Ottawa to continue their love affair with Scenester veterans, the Stars. Keep checking the Tour page for more dates in support of Stars in the new year.

DECEMBER 1st

Gentleman Reg is a cover boy after all. Check out last weeks Echo Magazine and this weeks Now Magazine to see Gentleman Reg grace the covers.

Also, release parties for Darby & Joan take place this weekend, and feature the current band linuep of Greg Millson (Young Ideas) on drums, John Sutton (The Weakerthans) on bass, and Kristian Galberg (Sea Snakes) on guitar. The Toronto show will have some very special guests!

NOVEMBER 12th

The Gentleman Reg band is half-way through their Canadian tour with the amazing Stars (the last date with the Stars is November 13th). If you haven't caught the band yet, check the Tour page for remaining dates.

Reviews for Darby & Joan continue to roll in and we're putting them up as we get them on the Press page. We're happy to also say that the album keeps climbing up the campus radio charts. This week Darby & Joan came in at # 20.

We've put up another mp3 on the Releases page which you can download for free. "Untouchable," a love song that is getting resoundingly positive feedback. Umbrella Music says Untouchable is "a gem. Starting with a slow, strumming guitar and a sole minor note from an organ, Vermue’s melancholic voice comes in with what’s probably the most infectious line on the disc, 'all that I thought about/for the longest time.' Whether it’s the strange inflection or unorthodox phrasing, the line reverberates long afterwards."

OCTOBER 19th

Darby & Joan, the new album from Gentleman Reg is in stores this week! The album was a long time in the making and we are very happy to have it available to everyone. Reviews have been coming in and are all extremely positive. Check out the flattering reviews on the Press page.

The Gentleman Reg band have been busy playing Ontario dates with The Organ and Controller.Controller.
November 1st, Greg Millson, Reg Vermue, and newest member John Sutton take off on a three-week tour of Western Canada supporting the band Stars. Keep checking the Tour page for show announcements in your city.

The fall tour will wrap up with more Ontario dates and a CD release party in Toronto at the El Mocambo on December 3.

We have also set up a new mailing list to keep everyone up to date with our news and tour dates. To subscribe to the mailing list, send an email with the word "subscribe" to gentlemanregband@yahoo.ca in the subject line or .

OCTOBER 5th

Only two weeks to go until the release of Darby & Joan, and the album is already getting great reviews and charting on campus radio. The Montreal Mirror rates the album 8 out of 10 and says, "The third solo album from the Hidden Cameras' frighteningly blonde guitarist is his best yet." Read the full review.

Some Western Canadian and Ontario tour dates are now on the Tour page, so check them out. The Gentleman Reg band is playing with the Organ in October and then crossing Canada with friends Stars in November.

And if you can't wait for Darby & Joan to hit store shelves, check out the sweet croonings of Gentleman Reg on the silver screen. "Give Me The Chance to Fall" appears in the opening of the new film Wilby Wonderful, directed by Daniel McIvor. Wilby Wonderful opens in theatres on October 8. Click here for dates and times.

SEPTEMBER

"It's Not Safe," the first single from the new Gentleman Reg album, was chosen as the number one song on John Sakatomo's September 2nd anti-hit list.

"Judging by this swift-moving preview of album No. 3 by the Hidden Cameras/sometime-Broken Social Scene participant, the progression toward pairing intensely personal messages with increasingly extroverted musical accompaniment should reach its apogee when Darby & Joan surfaces in October. In the meantime, you can download this track -- which sounds even better the 10th time around than the first -- from Reg's website for free, so what are you waiting for?"

You can read Sakamoto's entire hit list here.

The new Gentleman Reg album hits record stores in Canada on October 19.

Not as much performing took place at SXSW as planned when the Hidden Cameras shows were cancelled, due to several members not being admitted to the U.S.A.
But amazing times were had singing with Broken Social Scene during two of their sets, outdoors at Emo's, and at their instore at 33 degrees. And then quiet times took place when singing backup for the wonderful Sufjan Stevens at Buffalo Billiards. If you're not in the know about his music you should look here, www.sufjan.com

FEBRUARY

Welcome to the brand new gentleman reg site. It’s long overdue.

We're currently finishing up work on the third gentleman reg release. A project that’s been on the go, on and off, for the past six months. Mostly recorded in Ottawa with Dave Draves (Kathleen Edwards, Jim Bryson) at Little Bullhorn, with several songs done in Toronto with Jeff McMurrich (Sea Snakes, Hidden Cameras). The album will feature a mixture of all past G.reg bands, including boys from The Constantines, Royal City, Young Ideas, Kepler, and Sea Snakes. To start. I'd like to say the album is wonderful already, and I can’t wait to unleash it.
Maybe it will be just what you’re looking for.
